At approximately 04:12 local time, guards stationed near the eastern stretch of the Grey Wall reported an explosion.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene prior to the guards’ arrival. Several vagrants allegedly assembled a crude explosive device and placed it directly against the wall before withdrawing to a safe distance.
Authorities report no casualties. The explosion failed to breach the wall, resulting in only minor, localized damage.
No further statements have been released.
Repair crews were dispatched at first light. By noon, all visible damage had been removed.
“I don’t know who did it,” one observer stated, “but I have a hard time not sympathizing with them. They keep putting families inside. Someone was bound to get angry.”
