Kraken // Containment Recovery Unit
Monstrous
Scandinavian origin. First recorded 1250 BCE. Developed by the early Maritime Division to designate ships authorized to enter the North Sea recovery corridors. The Kraken’s image served a dual purpose — warning to outsiders, and respect to the creature whose movements shaped the tides. Crews believed cooperation meant survival: when the deep stirred, they followed, retrieving what the Archive lost to the sea. The sigil remains a Containment Division relic — worn by modern salvage teams and deep-sea researchers assigned to coastal recovery.
